El destacado promotor de lucha libre, Jerry Jarrett, falleció a los 80 años según informaron algunas figuras de la industria.

Rest in Peace Jerry Jarrett. I had such good experiences working with him in early TNA. He told my parents that the AMW-XXX cage match at Turning Point 2004 was one of the best he’d ever seen, which was a compliment that I cherish to this day. El padre de Jeff Jarrett se dedicó toda su vida a trabajar en el mundo del wrestling, en empresas como Continental Wrestling Association y United States Wrestling Association.
Fue, no obstante, su labor en NWA/TNA entre 2002 y 2005 la más destacada, siendo uno de los padres fundadores de lo que hoy conocemos como IMPACT.
También desarrolló labores como consultor en WCW y WWE. Como luchador, destacó en los 60 como parte de NWA Mid-America, ganando los títulos en parejas.
De momento, se desconocen las razones de su muerte.
